School Values in Action at Kalkallo
Welcome back to Term 2! It is lovely to walk around and hear the hum of learning. It is lovely to see the learning in action – children working independently, in small groups and as a whole class. The students have come back very settled and have remembered the routines and ways of behaving that ensure a happy and productive learning community.
Kalkallo teachers have also been learning and working together. In order to have a happy and productive learning community, teachers need to carefully curate it. They do this by explicitly teaching our students the school values and what it means to demonstrate them. The Kalkallo team is so passionate about this, that we are developing a behaviour matrix that makes it very clear how students can embrace the values of respect, integrity, resilience, safety, excellence and Christian. The Behaviour matrix, when complete, will allow students to see what each of those values looks like in action in each of our learning spaces.
