Secondary ICAS Success 2021

This year, a total of 37 Secondary students chose to sit the ICAS competition. The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools are run yearly, with students from Primary and Secondary invited to sit tests in a range of subjects.

This year, we participated in English, Mathematics and Science and drew some excellent results.

All students who chose to participate and completed one or more ICAS tests should be congratulated for aiming high. Each receives a certificate.

In addition to Participation certificates, there are levels of achievement ranging from Merit to Credit, Distinction and High Distinction. Here are some of the results:

Science  
Seven Year 7 students received Credit and there were two Distinctions – Gabrielle Prieto and Japjeet Sandhu. Six Year 8 students received Credit and Manraj Dhanoa was awarded Distinction.

Mathematics 
Eight Year 7 students received Credit as did two Year 8 students. There were six Distinctions awarded to Year 8 including Manraj Dhanoa, Riya Dhariwal, Saad Khurram, Aarav Upmon and Kenuka Wijesuriya. Five Year 9 students achieved Credit.

English  
Three Year 7 students achieved Credit and two were awarded Distinction – Aria Aninipoc and Nandini Suratwala. In Year 8, three students received Credit.

In addition, Gabrielle Prieto in Year 7 is congratulated for achieving High Distinction for English, which places her in the top one percent of Australia.
