Year 4 Shine Program - Donnybrook

Some of our Year 4 students at Donnybrook have had the opportunity to develop their critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills through our Learning Enhancement programs over the course of the semester. Students began focusing on a personal and significant local or global issue to develop a system or solution through creative and critical thinking processes and have recently moved into building teamwork and leadership skills through group challenges. Here are some short reflections from the students.

My group with Miss Dascoli is great. We worked on a poster of how we can make a difference in the world. We also made 3D puzzles which tested our teamwork and it’s going really smoothly. - Victor 4Y

I am proud to be a part of the extension program. It introduced me to life challenges and helped me to develop awareness to overcome challenges. Working with the team, we brainstormed how to make the world a better place. Personally, I have benefited from the outcomes of the program as I now choose good practices in my daily routine for mother nature. - Nirbhay 4X

My time with Miss Dascoli is… spectacular! My group members are great fun. We solve critical problems which is really enjoyable. I will always have fun in Miss Dascoli’s classes. - Diya 4Y

What I love to learn about in Miss Dascoli’s group is teamwork! I love to do activities that include teamwork. - Ekjot 4X

I enjoy being a part of the Shine Year 4 group. We have been learning about teamwork and compromise. We always resolve any team conflict, and we get along well. We have made roles for each other which makes us achieve things faster. - Brateil 4X

The major thing I love about this group is playing teamwork games such as making 3D puzzles. Right now, we are building a hot air balloon. From this, we learn teamwork and leadership skills. - Yuvraj 4X
