Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.
- Since 2011, the School has occupied the Mt Ridley P-12 campus and has1,400 students. In 2019, it opened asecond campus in Donnybrook. Commencing with junior primary, and will ultimately have an enrolment of 1,300 from Prep to Year 12.
- In 2023, the School will open its third campus in Kalkallo, as a Primary (P-6) school and as feeder to the Mt Ridley and Donnybrook Secondary schools, with eventually some 600 students.
- This year, the school has 2,287 students and employs some 240 staff - 163 teaching and 77 non-teaching. Currently, the student enrolment at each campus is: Mt Ridley 1,400, Donnybrook 672 & Kalkallo 215.
- The school is on a growth trajectory and in 2024 is projected to increase to 2,573 students and ultimately have some 3,300 students (Mt Ridley 1,400, Donnybrook 1,300 and Kalkallo 600) with a corresponding cohort of teaching and general staff on its three campuses with plans for further expansion.
Tutors: Full-time, Fixed Term – multiple positions available
Hume now calls for applications for multiple Tutor positions. These positions have become available due to the substantial growth of our School.
Reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning, Tutors play a pivotal role in assisting and developing our student cohort. Passionate, committed educators are sought to join our team, in a supportive and professional environment.
All Tutors share a significant responsibility in preparing young people to lead successful and productive lives, they can be a source of inspiration and, equally importantly, provide a dependable and consistent influence on young people as they grow and flourish, and ultimately make choices about their future.
These positions are full-time (1.0FTE), fixed term roles commencing as soon as possible and concluding on Friday, 6 December 2023. Hours of work are from 8:00am to 4:06pm Monday to Friday. Upon commencement, the Tutors will operate from either the Mt Ridley (Secondary) and Donnybrook (P-7) campuses.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering two or three 45-minute intervention sessions each week in groups of no more than five students for 26 weeks.
- Preparing, in consultation with the Learning Enhancement Team, Individual Education Plans.
- Measuring, monitoring, and evaluating the impact of interventions. Building positive relationships with students
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Tutors employed at Hume Anglican Grammar will fit into one of the categories below:
- are currently registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- have 'Permission to Teach' from the VIT (teacher tutor)
- are a pre-service teacher (employed as an Education Support (ES) class employee) working under the supervision of a registered teacher
- are a retired teacher, are a speech therapist or occupational therapist (employed as an ES class employee) tutoring in specific identified student needs.
