Committed to STEM Opportunities in Primary and Secondary School

All eyes were on Hume Anglican Grammar this past Saturday as our School played host to the 2022 VEX Robotics Competition And VEX IQ Competition.

These Robotics Competitions (of which, multiple are held annually) arehosted by 'in2robotics', and see school aged students from across the State harness their STEM skills in their pursuit for the ultimate prize.

The 2021-22 Challenege, 'Pitching In' saw two robots compete on a 6’ x 8’ rectangular field with teams required to working collaboratively in order to score points. The scoring objects  are 3” (7.62 cm) diameter Balls with a total of (22) Balls on the field. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible with your alliance partner by scoring Balls in Goals, clearing Corrals and Hanging at the end of the Match.

Teams would also compete in the Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of Driving Skills Matches, which will be entirely driver controlled, and Programming Skills Matches, which will be autonomous with limited human interaction.

The opportunity to host one of this years event highlights our school's commitment to embracing STEM and our position as a leading provider of educational opportuntities within the field.
