Promoting Positive Mental Health and Student Wellbeing

It’s been a busy start of the year in Student Wellbeing with Hume Anglican Grammar hosting Safer Internet Day and the National Day Against Bullying and Violence. In Term 2 we will be focusing on promoting positive mental health and wellbeing during Mindful May, and supporting students with stress management skills in the upcoming examination period in the Secondary school.

Words of Wisdom From our School Counsellor

I encourage families to read our School Counsellor’s article this week which focuses on helping our children move through fear and uncertainty, to strength.

Exercise and Positive Mental Health

It’s been a long Term 1 and many of us are counting down the days until school holidays start on Friday. During the term break it is important to slow down, have a rest, recharge, and engage in some physical activities outdoors away from devices.

This week’s special edition of School TV focuses on how physical activity and exercise improves cognitive function, elevates mood, improves learning, and reduces stress chemicals like cortisol. I encourage parents to click on the link to learn how exercise improves student wellbeing across all year levels Physical Activity & Exercise | Hume Anglican Grammar (schooltv.me)

I encourage families to go outside and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather while it lasts.
