Thank a Teacher on World Teacher's Day

Tomorrow, 29 October, is World Teachers’ Day, an annual celebration that acknowledges the vital work that teachers do across the globe. On this occasion, I would like to articulate my profound gratitude for all of the teachers at Hume who consistently and sincerely teach with heart.

A teacher is much more than someone who imparts information (for that would be a dull and dry profession indeed). Rather, a teacher facilitates, collaborates, motivates, inspires, nurtures, supports, encourages and challenges. Further, a teacher is courageous, innovative, creative, tenacious, empathetic, flexible, organised and transformative. Each of these behaviours and attributes combine in our staff at Hume to ensure that each one of our students can dream, learn and grow.

I would like to invite our parents and students to write a note of thanks to a member of the teaching staff at Hume to acknowledge their wonderful work. Send a quick email to let someone know just how much you value their work on World Teachers’ Day!
