Students are participating in Physical Education with energy and enthusiasm despite the colder weather. It was fantastic to see all Year 3 to Year 6 students getting involved in the House Cross Country event on Friday, 30 May. Students were resilient and were able to complete the 3 kilometre race. In all Physical Education classes we have been discussing the importance of pacing yourself when partaking in long-distance running. This is something we are encouraging students to focus on in future races.

Students in Years 1 and 2 were also lucky enough to have coaches from NetSetGo (Australia’s official netball starter program) come to Donnybrook on Wednesday, 28 April. It was a wonderful opportunity for these students to experience what this extra curricular program could offer. Students were thrilled with an additional chance to go outside for half an hour where they participated in group activities and skills associated with netball. Students are lucky enough to have opportunities to be involved in sports outside of school hours, including Auskick and now NetSetGo.

We would appreciate all parents encouraging physical activity outside of school. Exercise is incredibly important to student health and wellbeing.
