Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.
- Hume Anglican Grammar has an open enrolment policy so educates children from many faiths and with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.
- In 2023, the School will open its third campus in Kalkallo, as a Primary (P-6) school. In 2022, the first classes for the new campus have commenced and are being accommodated at the Donnybrook campus, to then move to the new site in 2023.
- The school is on a growth trajectory and in 2023 is expected to increase to 2,265 students and ultimately have some 3,300 students (Mt Ridley 1,400, Donnybrook 1,300 and Kalkallo 600) with a corresponding cohort of teaching and general staff on its three campuses with plans for further expansion.
Library Assistant
The purpose of the Library Assistant is to provide general administrative and hands-on support to help with the daily operations of the Library. The Library Assistant has an important part to play in supporting teachers in the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning programs at Hume Anglican Grammar.
The Library Assistant is recognised as very organised and self-disciplined. They have high standards and strive to improve their own practice and to make efficiencies in the school setting.
This is a full-time, ongoing position (working term weeks) at our Mt Ridley Campus and is available due to increasing enrolments at our thriving school. Please note that in the future you may be required to perform part or all of your work at other locations. Ideally, the successful candidate would commence on Monday, 2 May 2022 (neg).
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- Providing assistance to Library users and direct enquiries to the Teacher Librarian when appropriate and as required
- Assisting in the management of appropriate cataloguing and borrowing systems for resources
- Maintaining the circulation desk, and check items out and in, in accordance with set procedures
- Return Library materials to shelves or other storage areas
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Highly proficient computer skills in the MS Office suite including Outlook and Word
- Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role
- A current Working with Children Check

- Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organisational skills, planning, and ability to operate efficiently and effectively
- A flexible approach to work and being adept at prioritising, operating under pressure and managing multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
- The highest level of loyalty and discretion, and the capacity to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality

Salary:
The Hume Anglican Grammar Agreement 2019 classifies this position as General Staff Level 2.
The position works Term Weeks is entitled to 5 weeks paid annual leave and takes 8 weeks unpaid. The following annual salary sub-level offered will be determined by the successful candidates experience in a like role and relevant qualifications. Once you deduct the unpaid leave component, the following salary will be prorated over the year and includes leave loading:
2.1 $52,684 (annual equivalent)
2.2 $54,265 (annual equivalent)
2.3 $55,893 (annual equivalent)
2.4 $57,570 (annual equivalent)
