Italian at Donnybrook and Kalkallo

It has been an exciting start to the year in Italian across both Donnybrook and Kalkallo campuses. It is fantastic to see students so enthusiastic about learning Italian. I would like to welcome our new Italian teacher, Miss Elle Pace, who will be working with the Kalkallo team.

During Term 1, Prep students learned the song ‘Ciao Buongiorno’ and are working on greetings in Italian. They recently started making their own Italian flag collage and will be completing some Carnevale masks in the lead up to Easter.

In Years 1 and 2, students are learning about where things such as food and materials come from. They are learning the song ‘Ci Vuole un Fiore’ and doing an excellent job of learning all the lyrics and actions.

Students in Years 3 and 4 have been learning about the planets. They are currently learning a planet song in Italian and demonstrating great enthusiasm.

Finally, the Year 5 and 6 students have worked productively on their Winter Olympic Assignment. Students have chosen their preferred Winter Olympic Sport and conducted research on it. They will be presenting their opinions and findings to the class in Italian toward the end of term.

Today, students were able to purchase a gelato from the icecream truck as part of our Harmony Day celebrations. Delizioso! (Delicious)
