On Tuesday, 31 October we were honoured to welcome distinguished guest, Mr Rob Mitchell MP, Federal Member for McEwen, to take part in the Official Building Opening of the Visual Arts Centre at Hume Anglican Grammar’s Donnybrook campus.
Mr Rick Tudor OAM, Chair and Mr Richard St John, former Chair of the Melbourne Anglican Diocesan Schools Commission, were also in attendance.
Although the Visual Arts Centre has already been in use by our students for several months, the opening ceremony provided us with an opportunity to formally commemorate the opening and to express our gratitude to the Commonwealth Government for their support under the Capital Grants Program.
Special guests were treated to a lively singing and dance performance by our talented students. The event also featured a reflective speech by Mrs Pamela Gomes, a dedicated teacher who began her journey at Hume Anglican Grammar back in 2011 at our Mt Ridley campus.
The ceremony was officiated by a ribbon-cutting and the unveiling of a plaque. It was a grand occasion for all of us at Hume Anglican Grammar and a proud moment for our students, staff, and the wider community. We are excited that this new facility will help inspire our students to be creative and explore their full potential in the field of The Arts.
