Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.
- Hume Anglican Grammar has an open enrolment policy so educates children from many faiths and with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.
- In 2023, the School will open its third campus in Kalkallo, as a Primary (P-6) school. In 2022, the first classes for the new campus have commenced and are being accommodated at the Donnybrook campus, to then move to the new site in 2023.
- The School is on a growth trajectory and in 2023 is expected to increase to 2,265 students and ultimately have some 3,300 students (Mt Ridley 1,400, Donnybrook 1,300 and Kalkallo 600) with a corresponding cohort of teaching and general staff on its three campuses with plans for further expansion.
Hume Anglican Grammar now seeks applications for a Daily Organiser to join our friendly and supportive team at our Mt Ridley Campus in Mickleham. This position is full-time ongoing, commencing 18 January 2023.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day management of staff absences, lesson covers, calendar events and efficient operation of the daily routines of the School, across all campuses
- Coordinate, manage and monitor short-term cover for teacher absences
- Liaise with teaching staff regarding work left for classes affected by teacher absences
- Develop and implement effective and efficient processes and procedures for informing school staff on a daily basis of their responsibilities with regard to required duties
- Manage duty rosters to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place to supervise students outside of class time.
- Responsible for maintaining the school calendar, as well as coordinating significant events and the use of classrooms and other common facilities.
- Maintain records for camps, tours, excursions, incursions, and special events
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working in an education sector is highly desirable
- Extremely organised and proficient coordinator of school operations
- Flexibility in the approach to work and being adept at prioritising, operating under pressure and managing multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Actively seeking ways to improve their own practice and to progress organisational efficiencies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with staff empathetically
- Skilled at organising events, planning activities, and coordinating others
More about the position:
At Hume Anglican Grammar the Daily Organiser works Term Weeks - with an extra week worked in the mid year break and the two weeks prior to the start of the academic year. Therefore, all paid and unpaid leave will be taken during non-term weeks. It is expected the Daily Organiser is available to receive phone calls and messages by 6:30am each school day and be present at school no later than 7:15am. Duties conclude at 2:36pm. It's reasonable to expect the Daily Organiser will be contacted by teachers in the evenings prior to a school day they may be absent.
