STEM Week

Donnybrook Secondary School celebrated STEM Week with an exciting and engaging program of hands-on challenges across Science, Technology and Mathematics.

Throughout the week (Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August), students were encouraged to think creatively, solve problems, and apply their learning in new and unexpected contexts. Mathematics highlights included the 'Minties Challenge', 'Pi Challenge' and a chocolate speed-of-light experiment.

Science enthusiasts participated in daily Trivia and riddles, which tested both knowledge and persistence. Students also took part in immersive experiences such as a Science Escape Room, soap making, blood splatter investigation, DNA bracelet creation and a Mario Kart science challenge.

Technology activities gave students the chance to explore Cricut design and making, Sphero RVR robotics and drone flying across Years 7–10.

With competitions, prizes and collaborative tasks, STEM Week encouraged students to question, create, experiment and discover, showing that STEM learning is both practical and fun when applied in real-world and imaginative ways.
