Hume Anglican Student Achievements Board

It is with great pleasure that I report news of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) results for the Class of 2021.

Completing the VCE is a significant achievement and the results in 2021 underline our students’ dedication and commitment to pursuing excellence, whilst consolidating the School’s position as a leading provider of education in Melbourne’s north.

Of the 65 Year 12 students in the cohort, 61 have received an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). The results continue the School’s upward trend experienced in recent years. The Class of 2021 Dux is Jessica Singh, with an ATAR of 98.75, and the Dux proxime accessit is Gursimran Kaur, with a ranking of 94.25. In addition to Jessica and Gursimran, a further four students have joined our Academic Honour Roll (with scores greater than 90); Elizabeth Matthew (91.25), Hinal Mody (90.85), Arshdeep Singh (90.55) and Astha Johar (90.45).

Ten percent of students have received an ATAR of 90 and above. Additionally, more than a third of the cohort has placed in the top 20% of the country, with an ATAR of 80 and above, whilst 57% of our graduating class has achieved an ATAR of 70 and above, placing them in the top third nationally. These excellent results are a testament to our students’ commitment and work ethic, supported by their dedicated and skilled teachers.

In 2021, the median ATAR of the cohort is again extremely impressive and remains comfortably above that from previous years at 74.05, with the average ATAR at 68.20. With median ATAR scores up by 37% over the past five years, our pursuit of educational excellence and distinction remains firmly on track.

Outstanding academic results are a product of the strong partnership between school and home; therefore, we take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank all staff and parents who have supported and guided these students throughout their years at Hume Anglican Grammar.

These achievements should be duly celebrated, and we look forward to sharing more news on the pathways and Study Score trends of our graduating cohort in the coming weeks.
