In this edition of Proud Parents, we are pleased to introduce you to Ann Gabriel, mother of Isaiah who is in Year 3 at our Kalkallo campus.

Ann is an Australian patent and trademark attorney and works in the field of intellectual property law at a firm in Melbourne. Ann and her husband David, moved to Australia from Singapore in 2016 after the birth of their son Isaiah. Isaiah commenced Prep at Kalkallo in 2021. Ann and David also have a 3-year-old daughter, Isabel.

Why did you choose Hume Anglican Grammar for your child?
David and I were exploring various schools for our son, and as part of that exploration, we attended an Open Day at the Donnybrook campus in 2019. The enthusiasm of the staff and the confidence of the kids in showing the new parents around the then brand-new campus caught our attention. We read up on the School’s core Values, each of which resonated with us so strongly. The Schools Vision, Mission and future plans for growth and development are remarkable. The decision was then straightforward as we were very impressed with what we saw, heard, read and experienced.

What has been the fondest memory of your time here at Hume?
There have been many fond memories in the last 3+ years at Hume Anglican Grammar, but one of the highlights would be when David or I volunteer for the Parents and Friends Association (PFA) activities and get to see the smile on our son’s face when he sees us on campus.

What do you value most about education?
Good education is, in my opinion, the most valuable gift a parent can give to their child. A curious mind combined with essential life skills and a healthy balance of the various human quotients are some of the essential pillars of a good education.
