Camps, Incursions and Excursions

In addition to the daily classes and learning engagements that our teachers plan and provide for students, the firsthand experiences that camps, incursions and excursions offer has been greatly missed over the past months. It is with much excitement to report that we are now able to confirm a number of wonderful opportunities that will proceed for our students. On Wednesday, 10 November, our Year 3 students departed for Alexandra Adventure resort. There was great excitement as students arrived at school with their camp bags and warm clothes ready to board the buses. Not even the cold wet weather could wipe the smile from their faces. We certainly hope our Year 3 students enjoy their first Primary camp experience.

Incursions and excursions provide a hands-on experience for students to consolidate their learning in a practical and meaningful way. With the lifting of restrictions, we have been able to secure bookings to a variety of venues and lock in external presenters to visit the school. The next 4 weeks will be extremely busy with Year 6 visiting the Queen Victoria market and Malcom Creek, Year 5 visiting Sovereign Hill, Year 2 are off to Werribee Zoo, Preps will have their Teddy Bears Picnic, Year 3 are spending a day at the Essendon Traffic school, Year 4 learning the finer skills of tennis at the Hume Tennis Centre and Year 1’s trip to Splash. In addition to these, we also have the annual Book Week parade, a Pasta Truck for all Primary students, a petting Zoo, Science Dome incursion and a Gelato Truck. Wow!

It is so rewarding to finish the year on a high. To have all our students back onsite where they belong brings a level of joy that is rarely experienced. It’s great to be back!
