Prep at Donnybrook

We are so grateful to be back at Donnybrook after such a long time at home learning. The Prep students returned very excited and happy to see their friends and teachers. Each classroom was full of chatter and smiles. Students were excited to share ideas and what they had been doing during lockdown. During lockdown, students began losing their milk teeth and their big teeth have begun to grow. Some of the students had learnt how to ride a bike without training wheels. We’ve noticed how much taller they have grown and how much older they look.

Since returning to school, each student has been busy learning about subtraction and materials. When exploring what the playground is made of, they found it has plastic and metal in different places. They also used vocabulary such as hard, soft and shiny to describe materials. The students loved sharing their amazing reading. So many more words are recognised, and sentences are read with excitement. The students were sad to be going back to home learning, but the teachers reassured them, they would all be back at school on Monday to have lots of fun and learning.
